Peekok YouthARTS Initiatives (PYI) is proud to announce its official participation in FUSE International 2026, one of the United Kingdom’s leading international festivals celebrating emerging artists, youth performance, and global cultural exchange. As part of the official festival programme, PYI will present its original multidisciplinary theatre production, ÀJO: The Sojourn, on Friday, 26 June 2026 at the Arthur Cotterell Theatre Main in Kingston upon Thames, London. Organised by Creative Youth, FUSE International brings together outstanding young performers, theatre-makers, dancers, musicians, and creatives from around the world through an exciting programme spanning theatre, dance, music, circus, and interdisciplinary performance.
ÀJO: The Sojourn is a powerful multidisciplinary performance that blends theatre, dance, rhythm, movement, music, and visual storytelling to explore migration, identity, resilience, displacement, hope, and transformation. Rooted in Yoruba cultural expression and inspired by themes of human movement and collective survival, the production follows a people’s journey from Ilé-Ifè in search of a greater destiny. Along the way, they confront conflict, betrayal, spiritual encounters, sacrifice, and the enduring human desire to explore, grow, and become. Through a dynamic ensemble of young performers, ÀJO reflects both ancient cultural memory and contemporary global realities, creating a performance that is deeply African in spirit while universally resonant in meaning.
The selection of ÀJO: The Sojourn for FUSE International 2026 marks an important international milestone for Peekok YouthARTS Initiatives and for the visibility of Nigerian youth theatre on the global stage. For nearly two decades, PYI has remained committed to empowering young people through arts education, performance, creativity, cultural exchange, and community engagement. Participation in FUSE International strengthens this mission by creating opportunities for intercultural dialogue, international collaboration, artistic development, and global cultural representation. This production also highlights the growing relevance of African storytelling within contemporary international performance spaces and reinforces the role of the arts as a bridge between cultures, generations, and communities.
More than a theatrical presentation, ÀJO: The Sojourn represents a shared journey of heritage, identity, aspiration, and human connection. As preparations continue toward the festival, Peekok YouthARTS Initiatives extends appreciation to its creative team, participating schools, parents, collaborators, supporters, and partners whose commitment continues to make this vision possible. Additional announcements, rehearsal highlights, behind-the-scenes content, production updates, and festival activities will be released in the coming weeks.

The World Children’s Festival is a three-day festival held every four years on the National Mall in Washington, DC for winners of the Arts Olympiad to participate. The festival includes over 50 performances and many art-related workshops. It also has sessions for the winners from different countries to co-create artworks with many adult artists.
Before the event, the Arts Olympiad winners from Washington, D.C. are asked to be ambassadors for the festival and exchange emails with international winners to welcome to the festival. The international winners are welcomed to the host families around the Washington area.
Children share ideas and work together during the three-day festival. On the last night of the festival, the celebratory dinner is held with all guests dressing in national attire.
The Color Art Festival is an annual event that has been taking place since 1990. It is a continuation of the International Festival of Children’s Art, under the patronage of Polish UNESCO Committee. Its goal is the widest possible promotion of all forms of children’s artistic creativity. We strive to ensure that the annual competition themes open up space for discussions and actions promoting respect for dignity, diversity, and equality. The theme of this year’s festival aligns strongly with the mission of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Herbie Hancock, emphasizing the humanistic values of jazz as an important means of dialogue between people, fostering respect for human rights, and eliminating social discrimination.
We are happy to invite children and youth aged 6 to 17 to participate in the competition. We welcome submissions from individuals, educational institutions, and cultural organizations. Competition winners are invited to take part in a several-day seaside workshops led by artists.
