OYETUNJI OLU AKINLOYE

Founder/Chief Executive

Oyetunji Olu Akinloye is a multidisciplinary artist, youth worker, and community arts specialist born in Ijimoba-Ejigbo, Osun State, Nigeria. His practice bridges visual arts and community development, using creativity as a tool for empowerment and transformation.

In 2007, following his National Youth Service in Jos, Plateau State, Akinloye founded Peekok YouthARTS Initiatives—a platform dedicated to nurturing artistic skills among young people. The initiative fosters self-expression, builds self-esteem, and instills a sense of accomplishment through artistic engagement.

His artwork has been featured in numerous exhibitions both within Nigeria and internationally, reflecting a deep commitment to cultural exchange and storytelling through visual language. Beyond the gallery space, his community-focused programs continue to provide Nigerian children and young adults with enriching opportunities to explore the arts as a fulfilling and sustainable life path.

Akinloye holds a Bachelor of Technology in Fine and Applied Arts from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, and Postgraduate Certification in Social Work from Lagos State University, Ojo. With over a decade of experience, he has contributed to environmental and multicultural nonprofit organizations across the UK, USA, Canada, Asia, and various European countries.

ORIYOMI JOSEPH

Artistic Director

Oriyomi Joseph, affectionately known as ORí, is a multifaceted performing artist with a deep-rooted passion for the arts. A Bachelor of Arts degree holder from the Department of Theatre Arts and Music at Lagos State University, his journey is a testament to the enriching experiences that the study of Theatre Arts can offer.

 

Hailing from the esteemed lineage of the Ojomu of Ajiran Kingdom in Lagos, Nigeria, ORí embodies the cultural richness and diversity of his heritage. His exceptional talents extend across various domains, making him a true Renaissance artist. ORí has earned recognition and awards for his outstanding contributions to the theatre, excelling in areas such as dance, drums, acting, recitation, singing, and chanting.

One of ORí’s notable achievements lies in his captivating portrayal of ‘Wasiu Wakanaki’ in the renowned TV sitcom, “The Johnsons.” This beloved character continues to entertain audiences on Africa’s most-viewed TV platform, Africa Magic, available on DsTV. Additionally, ORí has taken on leading roles in a Yoruba TV series titled “ELENINI,” produced by NOSTALGIA MEDIA NG.

 

Beyond the screen, ORí has achieved international acclaim, representing Nigerian culture and the arts on global platforms.

 

His contributions to cultural enrichment have been recognized and celebrated, as evidenced by his recent decoration and award as an Ambassador of Arts and Culture under the auspices of the Alimosho Art Initiative (AAI) and the Alimosho Art Community (AAC). ORí’s journey from the Department of Theatre Arts and Music at Lagos State University to becoming a cultural icon and ambassador is an inspiring testament to the boundless opportunities that a degree in Theatre Arts offers. His adventures continue to enrich the world with the beauty and depth of Nigerian culture, captivating hearts on both the local and global stages.

SMITH OLAOLUWA

Smith Olaoluwa is a renowned International Artist, a native of Lagos State, West Africa Nigeria, He hold a Bachelor of Art degree in Fine and Applied Art, and trained under the foremost artists of great University of Benin, Edo State Nigeria, He is an experimental artist/an art educator and exposed to the use of different medias, He has participated in several exhibitions both jury online and solo exhibitions, he is a highly respected artist who plays with colors when paintings, also a member of Society of Nigerian artists Lagos chapter.

OLUSEGUN NOELS

Creative Strategist

Olusegun Noels is an artist, a design-build professional he is the head of design and execution at Stiltot a design and fabrication studio in Lagos has executed projects in different capacities for brands corporate bodies and government bodies in different part of Nigeria. He is also a creative strategist at Peekok Youtharts Initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Technology – Fine and Applied Arts at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso

AMUSAN OLUSEYI PETER

Communication Associate

Amusan Peter Oluseyi is a Nigerian architect and multidisciplinary artist, proficient in both traditional and digital mediums. His creative journey began early in life, earning him numerous national and local awards for artistic excellence.

He holds a B.Tech in Architecture from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and a Master of Environmental Design (M.E.D) from the University of Lagos. Amusan is also an active member of the New Culture Group and was mentored by the renowned African artist and cultural icon, Demas Nwoko — a leading figure among the influential ‘Zaria Rebels’.

Driven by a passion for African and cultural design, Amusan has dedicated much of his career to mentoring and teaching young talents. He currently serves as the Participatory Project Manager at Peekok YouthARTS Initiatives, where he continues to champion youth engagement through arts and design.

OYETUMOH YUSUF

Programs Assistant

Oyetumoh Yusuf is a talented artist born on Lagos Island, Lagos, Nigeria. He holds an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Fine Art and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Graphic Design from the prestigious Yaba College of Technology.

Yusuf gained valuable industry experience through a one-year internship at Days Studio before enrolling for his HND. Under the mentorship of the renowned Dr. Kunle Adeyemi, he has had the opportunity to facilitate numerous art workshops across various schools, nurturing young talents and promoting creative expression.

His passion for curatorial practice has also led him to serve as an assistant curator for two art exhibitions, further enriching his experience in the contemporary art scene.
